RESCUE STORIES: Meet Dr. Dude!
Happy Rescue Stories Friday Friends!! We're back today for our last rescue story of 2022. Where has the time gone!!
If you've been following along this year, you know that during these ruff times, animal shelters and organizations have been struggling to maintain enough funding and supplies to support the hundreds of adoptable dogs/pets in their shelters. We are doing everything we can to help their efforts!
At Fit & Go Pets we play an important role (sometimes big, sometimes small) in helping dog rescue parents and their dogs as they go through their rescue journey and adapt to a new life. We see, firsthand, entire lives changed for the better. We feel this role we serve is a big part of who we are as a company, and our duty, to help our community and help as many dogs and pawrents as possible. Learn how you can help at the bottom of this blog post.
And without further ado, we are so excited to introduce you to this month's Rescue Story... meet Dr. Dude!
Rescue date: 2017
Breed: Black Lab Mix
Approximate age: 5 years old
Personality: Very loving and energetic
Loves to: Smile!
His owner tells us Dr. Dude’s Story:
We adopted Dr. Dude when he was around 1 and he was the most loving dog in the world. He was very playful and always would listen and cuddle. But we learned the darker side to his experience as a puppy. Dr. Dude had acid poured down his back before being rescued by us. I couldn’t imagine that someone would do that to such a loving dog that had got me through some hard times.
The greatest lesson:
That even though my dog has been through enough he still can be very loving and energetic.
A piece of advice:
Patience 100%
