We are so excited to introduce you to our June Rescue Story - Meet Phoenix!

Rescue Stories: Meet Phoenix!

  • Rescue date: January 31, 2023
  • Breed: Terroir mix
  • Approximate age: 3 years old
  • Personality: Phoenix is extremely affectionate, and has become the second shadow following us around at home. Our girl loves her family and is gently playful with her humans and fur siblings, she is extremely intelligent, fiercely loyal and protective.
  • Loves to: Phoenix enjoys being active during the day and to snuggle at night.

Phoenix’s Rescue Story: Phoenix was rescued from the Doral animal shelter where she lived for a bit over four months, marked as a stray.

The greatest lesson: We as a family learned we could find love and trust in a dog we did not raise ourselves. We learned not knowing the dog’s history did not mean the dog was not safe. She taught us so much that we went back and adopted a second dog from the animal shelter.

A piece of advice:

Do it! Best decision hands down!

What I wish I had known:

We wish we would have known that the history of a dog does not define their future. We were skeptical of adopting a dog from the shelter and now as a family we wouldn’t have it another way.

We know you have a wonderful dog rescue story. Tell us your story so we can
post it on our blog and share it with all the people we know. It will take 5 minutes of your time. Let’s get more people excited about dog rescue!
