Holiday Dog Boarding in Miami: When to Book for Thanksgiving and the Holidays (2026)
Reserve your dog's holiday stay at Fit & Go Pets before our suites fill up. There's no cutoff date, so we keep booking as long as we have space, but the earlier you book, the more time your dog has for a free Meet & Greet and a daycare day before the first overnight. We're in East Allapattah, minutes from Wynwood, Brickell, Edgewater and Miami Beach, and holiday boarding runs from $55 to $95 a night depending on your dog's size and length of stay, plus a small peak season charge. Every guest needs current Rabies, Bordetella and Distemper vaccines.
What the holidays look like at Abuela's House
Holiday mornings in Miami can actually be chilly, so the first thing our team reaches for is the sweater bin, a big box of dog sweaters in every size. On cool days the pool stays closed; when the temperature climbs back into the high 70s or low 80s, as it often does in December, it's pool day again. The holidays are when we care for more dogs than at any other time of year, and our team, many of whom have been with us for years, knows how to handle the busiest weeks. They build playgroups carefully, matching dogs mostly by energy level rather than just size, so a bigger dog who is older or more laid back may spend the day with the smaller pups.

Before the cold weeks arrive, the team does what Abuela would do: we check every bed and blanket, replace anything that's thinning, and make sure the bedding is fluffy and cozy for every guest.
We are big on holidays. Every year our holiday DOGOshoot has a new theme, and pups who take part go home with a wrapped Fit & Go gift, ready to go under the tree. We celebrate every family's traditions, with treats and props for families who celebrate Hanukkah and other holidays too.
Our 2026 holiday season schedule
On the days below we are closed to the public. That means our team is here caring for boarding guests and handling boarding check ins and check outs only. Daycare is open on those days for Unlimited Monthly Membership holders only.
| Holiday | Closed to the public |
|---|---|
| Thanksgiving | Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 |
| Christmas | Wednesday, December 23 through Friday, December 25 |
| New Year's | Wednesday, December 30, Thursday, December 31 and Friday, January 1 |
On every other day we keep our regular hours: Monday to Friday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can always check the latest on our holiday schedule.
When should I book holiday dog boarding in Miami?
As soon as your travel dates are set. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's are when Miami families leave town at the same time, and our suites fill up. We keep taking reservations for as long as we have room, so there's no official last day to book, but booking early also buys you time: time to get vaccine records in, time for a Meet & Greet, and time for a daycare day so your dog already knows us before the holiday.

If your dog has never stayed with us, plan backwards from your trip. Your dog needs a free Meet & Greet, current vaccine records, a signed Service Agreement and Terms and Conditions, and ideally one full daycare day before the first overnight. That trial day lets your dog learn the space, the team and the routine, so the first night feels familiar rather than brand new.
What does holiday boarding at Fit & Go include?
We call it the place where Miami dogs vacation. Your dog's stay looks a lot like a regular day at Abuela's House, just with a sleepover, and our #DOGOBSESSED team knows every guest by name. Mornings start with an outdoor potty break and play in our yard. Around noon dogs get a snack if needed, then a two hour nap indoors. Afternoons bring more play, water time in our dog pools and plenty of attention from the team. Most of the day is spent playing in open, supervised groups. At night and during rest time, each dog has their own private sleeping suite, a kennel sized to fit them with comfy bedding and safe toys, which keeps everyone calm, rested and safe. Suites come in a range of sizes and can be combined for families with more than one dog.
You'll get daily personalized photos and videos in your dog's own WhatsApp group with our team (think "Charlie's Adventures"), so you can enjoy your holiday knowing exactly how your pup is doing. Over the holidays that's also where our holiday greetings and any pickup or drop off updates arrive. We follow your dog's feeding routine and medication instructions, and you can add extras like one on one play, a filled Kong or a seasonal pupuccino.
How much does holiday dog boarding cost?
Nightly rates range from $55 to $95. Smaller dogs and longer stays are at the lower end, larger dogs and short stays at the higher end. During peak season, which includes the holidays, a small per night charge applies. Families with more than one dog get 15% off the second dog. Check out is before 2:30 p.m., and Sunday check in or check out is available on request for an added fee. Our pricing page always has the current rates.
Can you pick up and drop off my dog?
Yes. Transportation is an add on to any service, including boarding. We pick up and drop off Monday to Friday and on Saturday mornings; we don't transport on Sundays. On the days we're closed to the public, transportation is limited, so contact our team to check availability when you book. Our van goes door to door across Miami, from Brickell to Miami Beach, and pricing starts at $30 each way. See how it works on our transportation page.

Getting ready for the stay
A few things make holiday boarding smoother for everyone:
- Update your dog's food, medication and allergy details in your profile before check in.
- Send their regular food so their routine stays the same.
- Book a daycare day the week before if it's been a while since their last visit.
- Tell us if your dog cannot be around dogs of certain sizes.
Already thinking about spring break or summer? The same advice applies whenever Miami families leave town at the same time.
Frequently asked questions
Are you open on Thanksgiving and Christmas?
We're closed to the public on November 26 and 27, December 23 to 25, and December 30 to January 1. Boarding guests are cared for every day, and boarding check ins and check outs still happen on those dates.
Is there a last day to book holiday boarding?
No. We take reservations as long as we have space, but holiday suites do fill up, so we recommend booking as early as you can. That also leaves time for the Meet & Greet and a daycare day if your dog is new to us.
Can my dog come to daycare on a holiday?
Only if you hold an Unlimited Monthly Membership. All other daycare passes resume on our next regular business day.
Do you charge more during the holidays?
Yes, a small peak season charge is added per night. Our pricing page has the current amount.
Does my dog need a trial day before boarding?
We recommend at least one full daycare day before your dog's first overnight stay, after a free Meet & Greet.
What vaccines are required?
Current Rabies, Bordetella and Distemper vaccines.
See our boarding suites or book your free Meet & Greet to reserve your dog's holiday stay before we fill up.
